‘Catmose College is an outstanding school’ Ofsted 2012

Catmose College is a secondary academy school on Huntsmans Drive in Oakham, Rutland. The majority of students are drawn from the county town of Oakham and surrounding villages, although many are attracted from a wider area including Leicestershire and Melton through parental choice.

With more than 90% of students achieving five GCSE grades A*-C the College is one of highest attaining in Rutland and Leicestershire. The Ofsted report in February 2012 rated the college ‘Outstanding’ in all categories. We offer a broad range of experiences beyond the classroom to build independence, resilience and leadership skills that are critical for success in adult life.

END OF TERM ARRANGEMENTS

11 July

The College will close at 4pm prompt on Friday 18 July. All lockers should be cleared throughout the week and locks removed to allow them to be deep cleaned over the summer.        

YEAR 6 INDUCTION DAY

09 July

Last week we welcomed our future Year 7 students to the College for an induction day. During the day they got to experience different subjects including Sport, English, Maths and Science.        

SCIENCE WEEK 2014

09 July

Last week we celebrated Science Week at the College with trips to Land Rover, Leicester Tigers, Rockingham and the National Space Centre.        

STRIKE ACTION – THURSDAY 10 JULY

The National Teaching and support staff Union strike will unfortunately affect the College; we will be closed to year 8, 9 and 10 students. The year 8 trip will however go ahead as planned. Year 7 students are unaffected and should attend as normal. We are sorry for the disruption …
