Year 11 visit RAF Wittering

As part of their BTEC engineering studies, Year 11 students were given the opportunity for an RAF Wittering engineering experience. Hosted by the Careers Team at RAF Wittering, the day began with introductions from Warrant Officer Emma Hanson and Chief Technician Wayne Corbett. Tasks included hands-on activities like a land rover wheel change race and setting up a 12v lighting system. At 71 Squadron, avionics engineers shared insights into the RAF Astra programme and demonstrated ultrasound and echo location for aircraft safety. The day concluded with a visit to the Heritage Centre, offering a glimpse into Harrier jet development. Special thanks to Warrant Officer Hanson, the Careers team, and engineers for an enriching experience.
