In Spring, English scholars entered the Rotary Young Writers’ competition. Judges commented that they were extremely impressed by the high standard of entries, and several of the scholars were highly commended. Congratulations to Charlie (Year 9) and Chiara (Year 10), who both won not only the local heat in their age categories but have both gone on to win the regional competition and have now been entered into the National Final. Such a memorable day for our DofE students and Royal Air Force Air Cadets who had the honour of meeting the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh during their Royal visit to Oakham Castle. A truly unforgettable experience.

Catmose College is an oversubscribed secondary academy school on Huntsmans Drive in
Oakham, Rutland. The majority of students are drawn from the county town of Oakham and
surrounding villages, although many are attracted from a wider area including Leicestershire
and Melton through parental choice.
