Disneyland Paris netball trip
“After over 24 hours of delay in the port of Dover, we finally made it into Calais on Monday afternoon which allowed us to arrive at our hotel to prepare for going straight into the netball tournament on Tuesday. The competition was run by England netball involving teams from all over the UK so there was some really tough competition. Each team played the others in their age range in the morning, leading to a knock out competition after lunch. Many students enjoyed the delicious crepes on offer as well as the netball!
On the Wednesday we enjoyed a day at Disneyland Paris. The two most popular attractions were Hyperspace Mountain and the Avengers Mission ride. In the evening all the netball teams involved in the tournament attended an awards dinner in the Disney Village. Catmose under 12s A and B came fourth and sixth place, whilst the under 14 team came seventh. We were most proud of the under 12 teams jointly winning ‘Spirit cup’ for the support that we gave each other in the matches. After the awards, dinner, we had some extra time in Disneyland. After a long tiring day, we arrived back at our hotel and all slept well in preparation for a smoother journey back to Oakham.”
