Catmose College New Build Update

You may have noticed that the car park closest to the College reception has reduced capacity, this is to support the contractors for the new build and is the beginning of what is likely to be a yearlong build programme. I will regularly update the website as the build programme progresses through video diary entries. The first update covers where the build will take place and the impact this will have on accessing sport, the expectations around behaviour and how to report concerns.

Latest Update: 21 April 2023

29 January 2023

We are likely, after the half term break to finally see the structure emerge from the ground which will be an exciting moment. The weather, unexpected bed rock and a gas mains have all proven challenging, but we are still planning for an end of August handover.

Update: 1 December 2022

Key points:

  • The site is well defined now by fences, staff and students should not enter unless agreed with BAM contractors.
  • Contractors should not be on our site, building or land, unless accompanied by a member of staff.
  • There has been a great deal of mud generated, we continue to modify our plans in response.
  • A new temporary path is being laid to give a cleaner and safer access route to the fields from the sports centre.
  • The refurbishment of the old sports hall has begun, this will see an expansion of our changing facilities.
  • We have also continued the work towards installing an additional set of tennis/netball courts which has been helped by using the soil lifted to allow the construction of the new building.
