Earlier this term, 60 students joined our Humanities team for an unforgettable three-day tour of Ypres and the Somme, gaining a profound understanding of the sacrifices made during WWI. From exploring historic battlefields and preserved trenches to witnessing the powerful Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate, the experience was both educational and deeply moving. A particularly special moment was Esme visiting her relative’s memorial at the Battle of the Somme, and Jacob discovering his relative’s name on the Menin Gate—before taking part in the ceremony himself. A truly humbling experience. There was also time for some fun! Congratulations to Charlie, our student bowling champion, and Mr. Franklin, who took the win for the teachers.
