Lincoln Trip 2023

Recently students in Year 7 visited Lincoln for a trip through medieval history visiting the castle and cathedral. They spent the morning in the cathedral with a tour of the building and had to find the carving of the famous Lincoln imp. They also performed a play focused on King John and the Magna Carta as Lincoln has one of four remaining copies of the Magna Carta. During the afternoon students visited the castle, built by William the Conqueror in 1068. They walked around the castle walls learning about the many sieges of Lincoln during medieval times. Lincoln Castle is unusual in its design as it features two mottes, and is one of only two castles in the country to do so. The highlight of the trip was seeing the Magna Carta in its special display area.
