Baking Workshop

Last term 20 students who are studying GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition took part in a baking workshop with local baker Leslie Gadd.  Leslie has worked in the baking industry for many years, with 20 years being spent as a lecturer at the prestigious National Bakery School in London.  Leslie later founded his own prospering baking workshop business which he still manages.

Students took part in the workshop all morning and baked a Focaccia bread and Almond Tart.  All pupils learnt a range of new skills and thoroughly enjoyed the morning.  Everyone took home their bakes and commented on how tasty they were and how they look forward to making them again at home.

The morning has assisted students with essential skills that they need to learn for their upcoming GCSE practical assessment next year.

We are looking forward to welcoming Leslie back very soon to conduct a Gluten experiment with all GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition students.
