‘Catmose College is an outstanding school’ Ofsted 2012

Catmose College is a secondary academy school on Huntsmans Drive in Oakham, Rutland. The majority of students are drawn from the county town of Oakham and surrounding villages, although many are attracted from a wider area including Leicestershire and Melton through parental choice.

The College is one of highest attaining in Rutland and Leicestershire. The Ofsted report in February 2012 rated the college ‘Outstanding’ in all categories. We offer a broad range of experiences beyond the classroom to build independence, resilience and leadership skills that are critical for success in adult life. YEAR 10 AND 11 GIELGUD THEATRE TRIP

22 September

The drama department is holding a trip on Thursday 2 October for Year 10 and 11 students to visit the Gielgud Theatre to see ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time’ and take part in a workshop with the National Theatre.        

YEAR 8 BURGHLEY HOUSE TRIP

On Thursday 2 October, the Art and Humanities departments will be taking Year 8 students on a trip to Burghley House, Stamford.        

PARENTAL VLE ACCESS

We are pleased to announce that, over the next three weeks, parents/guardians will be granted access to the College VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) and the student academic record system, ePortal.

We are delighted to be working with the Rutland Teaching Alliance to provide teacher training positions through the School Direct Scheme. On the 9th October 6.00pm-8.00pm there will be a briefing event at Catmose College, Oakham.        

SPORT AT CATMOSE

12 September

2014 has been an amazing year for us. We achieved an ‘Outstanding’ set of examination results; reclaimed the area Varsity title; successfully launched our Sports Scholarship; introduced our new curriculum based around the 5 Abilities and delivered our World Sports Day to a range of local primary schools.
