‘Catmose College is an outstanding school’ Ofsted 2012

Catmose College is a secondary academy school on Huntsmans Drive in Oakham, Rutland. The majority of students are drawn from the county town of Oakham and surrounding villages, although many are attracted from a wider area including Leicestershire and Melton through parental choice.

The College is one of highest attaining in Rutland and Leicestershire. The Ofsted report in February 2012 rated the college ‘Outstanding’ in all categories. We offer a broad range of experiences beyond the classroom to build independence, resilience and leadership skills that are critical for success in adult life. Catmose College, Uppingham Community College and Oakham School are delighted to announce that plans for their academic sixth-form free school, Harington School, have been approved by the Department for Education.

The deadline for parents to apply for a place at the College is 31 OCTOBER for admission into Year 7, September 2015.        

YEAR 9 BATTLEFIELDS TRIP

23 September

This trip will show the Year 9 students studying Twentieth Century History the Battlefields in Belgium and Northern France and allow them to improve their knowledge and understanding of the causes, nature and conditions of the First World War.        

YEAR 10 AND 11 GIELGUD THEATRE TRIP

22 September

The drama department is holding a trip on Thursday 2 October for Year 10 and 11 students to visit the Gielgud Theatre to see ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time’ and take part in a workshop with the National Theatre.
