‘Catmose College is an outstanding school’ Ofsted 2012

Catmose College is a secondary academy school on Huntsmans Drive in Oakham, Rutland. The majority of students are drawn from the county town of Oakham and surrounding villages, although many are attracted from a wider area including Leicestershire and Melton through parental choice.

The College is one of highest attaining in Rutland and Leicestershire. The Ofsted report in February 2012 rated the college ‘Outstanding’ in all categories. We offer a broad range of experiences beyond the classroom to build independence, resilience and leadership skills that are critical for success in adult life. Our primary aim is to encourage each student to become a mature, independently minded individual who has the necessary skills and knowledge to be of value to themselves and society. We know that every student is talented, so our role as educators is to ensure these talents are fully realised. To achieve this, we have high expectations of every student, emphasising the importance of hard work and doing one’s best in every circumstance.

 

 

YEAR 11 OVERSTRAND GEOGRAPHY TRIP

The Geography Team are organising a trip on Friday 25 September to Overstrand, on the Norfolk Coast, near Cromer for Georgraphy GCSE students.        

YEAR 9 BRITISH EMPIRE STUDY DAY

The History team is organising a trip for Year 9 students to take part in a British Empire study day at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London on Tuesday 22 September.        

YEAR 7 MARY POPPINS THE MUSICAL TRIP

01 September

On Tuesday 13 and Thursday 15 October, Year 7 students will have the opportunity to see the musical ‘Mary Poppins’ and to take part in a workshop.        

CATMOSE COLLEGE STUDENTS CELEBRATE RESULTS!

Catmose College students were again celebrating their GCSE success as results came in on Thursday 20 August, with 70% of mainstream students achieving the key benchmark of 5 A* – C grades including English and Maths.
